Antalya liegt am Mittelmeer und ist eine türkische Großstadt. Antalya wird seit der Zeit der Antike als Pamphylien bezeichnet. Das bedeutet, Antalya ist der Hauptort an einer fruchtbaren Küstenlandschaft – in diesem Falle im Süden von Kleinasien gelegen. Bergama der Zweite, Attalos, soll zu seinen Soldaten gesagt haben: „Gehet hin und findet für mich den Himmel hier auf Erden!“, und die Soldaten strömten in die Welt und durchwanderten viel Länder. Schliesslich gelangten sie nach Antalya und berichteten ihrem König von einer beispiellosen Schönheit. So sollen sie gesagt haben: „Wir haben den Himmel auf Erden für euch gefunden!“.
